Equal Partner Donations

Due to the tremendous budget cuts affecting all programs, the Crimson Cadets are essentially self-funded. The Equal Partner Donation is a way to share the cost of running the program. This shared participant cost makes up the majority of the projected expenditures for the program for the coming year. Supplemental income will be generated through large fundraising projects like the MVHS Field tournament, the WGASC Color Guard Regional, the Golf Tournament, and Music Under The Stars. Sadly, there is no “bailout” money coming to us from the district, so we’re on our own. If we fall short of expected income, we will be forced to make additional and unpleasant cuts to the program mid-year. Each participant in Band and Color Guard is expected to generate their “fair share” in the manner of the Equal Partner Donation as follows:

Due by July 1st - $200 Registration Fee
Due by August 4th - $400 Camp Fee

The amount for a second sibling in the program will be $480 dollars total.

Payments can me made in the following manner and all payments must be made by check (payable to MVHS Band Boosters):

Turned into the metal box in the Band Director’s office.
Mailed to the Booster P.O. Box (envelope attached).
Turned in at Booster Meetings.
Through Pay Pal on the CC web site.

The Crimson Cadets Boosters are a 501(c)3 organization, so please check with your Tax Professional regarding deductibility.

Parent Involvement Points

In an effort to insure parent participation, and to encourage better communication, we will be reestablishing the Parent Involvement Points (PIP) program. All Band and Color Guard families are expected to participate through the following activities on a per family basis:

Booster Officer
Booster Committee Member
Band Chaperone
Logistics Volunteer
Meeting Attendance
Large Project Volunteer

Families who wish to be excluded from participation in these activities will be assessed an additional $200 on their Equal Partner Donation, or may contribute an equivalent amount of actual “things” to the program. In kind donations may be any of the following, but not excluded to:

Copy Paper
Bottled Water
General Office Supplies
Postage Stamps
Black Three Ring Binders
Clear Sheet Protectors
Music Supplies

Please contact the Band Director to discuss needs and ideas.

All PIP opportunities will conclude at the March 2nd Booster Meeting.

Additional Expenses

All students are expected to also contribute the following toward incidental items or expenses:

School Instrument Maintenance Fee - $75 (checks payable to Murrieta Valley USD)

Tournament Meals – $50
Shoes and Gloves – TBA
Color Guard Uniform and Equipment – TBA

Student Fundraisers

There will be a number of Student Fundraisers in place throughout the year to help generate money to support the Equal Partner Donations. These will be tracked through the Treasurer in the manner of Student Accounts. Fundraising activities may range from direct solicitation through Sponsor Letters, Tournament Program Ad Sales, and Ticket Sales, among others.

Payment Plans

As always, we are amenable to payment plans if Equal Partner Goals are not reached within the prescribed timelines. Families will need to make direct contact with either the Band Director or the Booster President, and will be asked to complete a contract with the Boosters regarding payments. These conversations will be strictly confidential.
