Neil Anderson
Director of Instrumental Music
 


Originally from Scotland, Neil Anderson received his Bachelor of Music degree from San Diego State University in 2001. Receiving a double Bachelor’s Degree (Music Education and Woodwind Performance), Mr. Anderson has taught at both the high school and community college levels.

Currently in his ninth year of teaching, Mr. Anderson’s groups have received Unanimous Superior ratings at local and regional festivals in each of his previous years. He has served as a clinician and adjudicator for marching competitions and concert festivals for regional and state band organizations throughout the western United States. His own groups have performed throughout California, Hawaii, and New York. In the spring of 2005, Mr. Anderson’s ensembles were invited and participated in the opening of the World War II Memorial, and National Memorial Day Parade in Washington DC. In 2009, his groups were invited on a 10 day performance tour of England and Scotland.

Mr. Anderson currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Southern California School Band and Orchestra Association (SCSBOA), and has professional affiliations with MENC, CBDA, and Music for All. He is a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.
